Advice point #2: Don't pay extra for the photography tour. The canyon was gorgeous! The early morning crowd wasn't too bad- I had PLENTY of time to stop and take photos along the way. It was a 5 minute walk from the building to the opening of the canyon, and our tour guide talked to us the entire way- mostly about the canyon and how to stay safe. There was a shady place to sit while we waited on our tour- which left on time. Take cash as there is a surcharge for credit cards. Advice point #1: Go to the correct place canyon. Needless to say, there was some rumbling and grumbling as they tried to turn around and wedge themselves out of the lineup. Apparently some people had pulled into the line for lower Antelope that needed to be at Upper Antelope.
Cars began lining up outside of the closed gate at 7:30. We set this tour up about 4 months ahead of time & booked an early morning tour with Dixie Ellis after much review reading.
